BY STEVE FINNELL

Does God approve of the dead communicating with the living?Does God approve of the living communicating with the dead? Does God sanction conversations with the dead through mediums? Does God give men the option of talking and petitioning the dead through prayer? Are dead saints aware of those who are alive? Can dead saints hear and answer prayers? The answer is no, no, no, no, no and no.

1. Does God approve of the dead communicating with the living? No

In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, or as some believe is a fact, instead of a parable, the rich man was denied that Lazarus could return to testify to his living brothers. God does not approve of the dead communicating with the living. (Luke 16:19-31)

2. Does God approve of the living communicating with the dead? No.

1 Samuel 28:7-20......15 Now Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" And Saul answered, "I am deeply distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me and does not answer me anymore, neither by prophets nor by dreams. Therefore I called you, that you may reveal to me what I should do." .......(NKJV)

A. Saul used a medium at Endor to bring Samuel up. That was a sin.
B. Saul could not pray to Samuel to ask for advice. The dead cannot hear the living nor do they know what the living are doing. Saul could not pray and ask Samuel to intercede for him with God.

3.Does God sanction conversations with the dead through mediums? No.

Deuteronomy 18:9-12.......11"or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.12 "For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from from before you.(NKJV)

Conversations with the dead through mediums is sinful.

4. Does God give men the option of talking and petitioning the dead through prayer? Can dead saints hear and answer prayers? Are dead saints aware of the living? No, No, and No.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know they are alive; But the dead know nothing, And they have no more reward, For the memory of them is forgotten. (NKJV)

Job 14:21 10-21 But a man dies and is laid away; Indeed he breathes his last and where is he?....21 His sons come to honor and he does not know it;They are brought low, and he does not perceive it.(NKJV)

The dead are not aware of the living. The dead are not Omniscient. The dead cannot answer prayer. The dead are not Omnipotent.

Samuel could not hear Saul from the grave, he had to be brought up my a medium. Saul also had no power to answer prayers.

Dead popes, the Virgin Mary, nor dead family members are aware of the living and even if they were, they have no power nor ability to grant or answer prayers. The only way to communicate with the dead is through mediums and that is a sin.

Only the living can offer prayers for the living. Even then, the living have no power to answer prayers.

YOU ARE INVITED TO FOLLOW MY BLOG. http://steve-finnell.blogspot.com

Posted by Steve Finnell at 3:57 PM No comments:
Email This
BlogThis!
Links to this postSteve Finnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12863026367048527526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605682049214774792.post-49817312609735324322014-08-22T22:59:15.784-07:002014-08-22T22:59:15.784-07:00What about a wife who chooses to leave and lead as...What about a wife who chooses to leave and lead as sinful a life as possible? The woman is not a church, nor Mary, nor Israel, she is the prophet like unto Moses and Elijah Matt 17:3, Acts 3:21-23, Luke 1:17 delivering the true word John 1:1 from the wilderness to prepare a people for the Lord’s return. God our Father will not put any child of his into a hell fire no matter what their sins. It never entered the heart or mind of God to ever do such a thing Jer7:31, Jer 19:5. Turn your heart to the children of God. A gift is now delivered to the whole world as a witness Matt 24:14. http://minigoodtale.wordpress.com Prove all things. The Good Talehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11574105752086912139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605682049214774792.post-54186845993735620122012-06-27T18:42:24.963-07:002012-06-27T18:42:24.963-07:00Thanks Steve!!!Thanks Steve!!!David Arnoldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00098261422194008443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605682049214774792.post-41352280891177983862012-06-26T12:49:05.636-07:002012-06-26T12:49:05.636-07:00you are invited to follow my blogyou are invited to follow my blogSteve Finnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12863026367048527526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605682049214774792.post-90605300211098259492012-02-25T06:35:24.583-08:002012-02-25T06:35:24.583-08:00Perfect scripture for my youngest, who is still st...Perfect scripture for my youngest, who is still struggling with truth.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605682049214774792.post-62280316861759447332012-01-17T11:43:24.147-08:002012-01-17T11:43:24.147-08:00you are invited to follow my blogyou are invited to follow my blogSteve Finnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15041851737677873347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605682049214774792.post-12135397963273119152012-01-11T21:18:13.903-08:002012-01-11T21:18:13.903-08:00David, you are helping me prepare my "story&q...David, you are helping me prepare my "story" for next Tuesdays home church meeting. However, we must also remember that the Bible was written mostly by Jewish men and then the books were chosen by men in various Roman Catholic church Counsels, therefore, to apply this passage to justify the present Israeli slaughtering of innocent Palestinians, is a grave error; for murdering anyone is against the Universal Laws created by the Divine Justice who breathed the breath of life into all incarnate souls on Earth.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605682049214774792.post-68618121580661419422010-12-07T14:08:03.904-08:002010-12-07T14:08:03.904-08:00Joseph's story is amazing. Often those that are uncomfortable with the concept of the use of them have experienced a group's use of them erroneously. If used according to scripture, they can be edifying to the individual believer. Used correctly should be between believer and God not believer and confused crowd.

Mankind has always been amazed by the supernatural. Just when you think we've had enough, Hollywood dumps yet another Super-Hero/Vampire/Element Bending/Mythical Hero/
Wizard movie on us. We are simply shaken by the things that can happen that we would never believe could happen. We are especially enamored with the individuals that display "supernatural" abilities. It's no different in the church.
"Hey, the spirit really moves through this guy, look at em fall and all he did was touch their head and say, 'Be Filled'!" The crowd circles the spectacle with no knowledge of the quiet whisper of, "Just let the spirit take you brother," or the even less subtle shove to the forehead. The transcendent one has no real objection to the chicanery either, for the woman sawed in half gets just as much attention as the magician holding the saw. Yet all is lacking substance, while the trick gains attention and emotional release (read: HIGH), no lasting change is elicited from the crowd. No true spiritual conversion. No spreading of the gospel, just another distraction rather to keep us from doing what we should be doing (Matt 28 anyone????). That then begs the question, who is this "spirit" then that supposedly "fills" during these conjurations?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605682049214774792.post-26028560167775896032010-09-21T17:15:09.821-07:002010-09-21T17:15:09.821-07:00So glad everyone's OK!
